Dry Eye Center of New York is committed to treating all disorders of the surface of the eye. Dr Robert Latkany is the first New York Eye Doctor to devote a significant portion of his practice to the treatment of dry eyes and blepharitis. He founded and is the director of the Dry Eye Clinic at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, the first Dry Eye Clinic in the tri-state area.
In his private office in midtown Manhattan Dr. Latkany specializes in treating patients with Dry Eyes, Blepharitis, Pterygium, Pingueculum, Corneal Ulcers, Corneal Scars, Corneal swelling requiring Corneal Transplantation, Stem Cell deficiency, poorly healing Epithelial Defects (non-healing skin-defects in the eye) that may require Amniotic Membrane Transplants, Ocular Rosacea, and Styes. He also performs LASEK or PRK for patients interested in refractive surgery.
Dr. Latkany is also available for second opinions on any eye problems.
Robert Latkany is a board certified and Cornea & External Disease Fellowship
Trained Ophthalmologist. He graduated from Columbia University and the Boston University
School of Medicine. He did his Residency
Training and Fellowship Training at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Latkany is actively involved in Dry Eye research and lectures nationally and internationally. He has published several professional papers and has filed two patents.
Dr. Evelyn Icasiano is a board-certified ophthalmologist providing a broad spectrum of comprehensive eye care with special interests in cataract surgery and laser vision correction refractive surgery. Dr. Icasiano was born and raised in New Jersey. She graduated from Rutgers University. At Rutgers, she was awarded the Henry Rutgers Scholar Award after completing a senior research thesis in the Biological Sciences and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She then went on to earn her medical degree at the Chicago Medical School. Upon graduation she completed an internship in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent Hospital in New York followed by her residency training in Ophthalmology at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago.
Following her residency training, she continued her training with a subspecialty fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. She is currently an adjunct attending physician at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. She was recognized as a "Rising Star" in Ophthalmology in the 2013 and 2014 editions of New York Super Doctors.
Dr. Icasiano is proficient in Spanish.
