Physician Eyecare of NY has two board certified, fellowship trained ophthalmologists who together specialize in cataract and refractive surgery, corneal surgery and disease of the corneal and external eye. We accept most insurances. All consultations related to general eye care and diseases of the surface of the eye with Dr Robert Latkany and all consultations related to cataract and refractive surgery will be with Dr Terry Kaiura.

Dr. Robert Latkany

Dr Robert Latkany is the first New York Eye Doctor to devote a significant portion of his practice to the treatment of dry eyes and blepharitis. He founded and is the director of the Dry Eye Clinic at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, the first Dry Eye Clinic in the tri-state area.

In his private office in midtown Manhattan Dr. Latkany specializes in treating patients with Dry Eyes, Blepharitis, Pterygium, Pingueculum, Corneal Ulcers, Corneal Scars, Corneal swelling requiring Corneal Transplantation, Stem Cell deficiency, poorly healing Epithelial Defects (non-healing skin-defects in the eye) that may require Amniotic Membrane Transplants, Ocular Rosacea, and Styes.

Dr. Latkany is also available for second opinions on any eye problems.

moistureDr. Robert Latkany is a board certified and Cornea & External Disease Fellowship Trained Ophthalmologist. He graduated from Columbia University and the Boston University School of Medicine. He did his Residency
Training and Fellowship Training at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary.

Dr. Latkany is actively involved in Dry Eye research and lectures nationally and internationally. He has published several professional papers and has filed two patents. In addition, Dr. Latkany's book, The Dry Eye Remedy, the first book ever written about dry eyes to the general public has sold almost 20,000 copies in the first year.

Dr. Terry Kaiura

Terry Kaiura, MD, FACS completed her medical school education at Cornell University Medical College.  She then did a residency at the Harkness Eye Institute at Columbia University serving as chief resident in her last year.  She later completed a corneal, external disease and refractive laser fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.  Currently, Dr. Kaiura is an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the New York Medical College.  She actively participates in resident training at the NYEE and serves on the Medical Board of the New York Eye Bank.  She specializes in complex corneal disease, cataract surgery and laser vision correction.
